Food to the homeless by driving around and walking around downtown and other homeless encampments to provide meals and water to the homeless people that will no or cannot go to the shelter.
In addition to the food mentioned above, we provide as we can tents/sleepting bags, other necessities.
In extreme cold we gather and distribute cold weather gear, especially socks, hats mittens and blankets.
In extreme heat we collect and distribute water and electrolyte add ins to those that need it.
In extreme heat and extreme cold we provide hotel rooms for the homeless that cannot or will not go to the shelters, to get off the street and be safe. Some especially women have had bad experiences and will freeze before going back into a shelter.
In the winter we do “Freezing for a Reason” a overnight campout in the cold and have tables of items like clothing, shoes, blanket and suitcases/bags for people to come select from and leave donations. This is one of our fundraisers to being in donations from people who support us, but also provides services to those that need assistance.
HOMELESS OUTREACH
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do. Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
